Tifa is looking awesome. Rather like with Aeris and Cloud, she’s translated into the game’s art style really well. The details on her gloves are extraordinary.

This is pretty much the best option imo. There’s no way it would appeal to a wide audience if it was an old turn based combat style. This is a compromise that blends action-rpg with turn-based RPG and it looks absolutely amazing to me.
I mean, you could just keep playing the original. I was impressed by the combat on this.
There will be serious disappointment if they finally reveal Tifa and she’s wearing her Advent Children outfit and not her original miniskirt, that alone could sink interest and sales for the remake.

I’m guessing because they don’t need to give enough of a fuck to put any work into tidying it up. They can dump it as-is, risk zero investment in any sort of improvements, and rake in the cash from people who will mash the buy button the moment they see “Chrono Trigger”.

SAO: Abridged does this in spades. It’s one of the few times where I’ve watched a parody and it was legitimately a far better show than the original, and not just from a comedic standpoint. Kirito actually had character development!

I remember watching a documentary about the history of anime (sorry can’t recall what the name was), but iirc the reason they use such varying hair colors is because if you used just the natural hair colors too many of the characters would look the same. This is also why there are so many un-natural hair styles.
