Being able to eventually play it with better graphics (resolution/fps) than the weak consoles sounds like a legitimate reason to me. Not even considering being able to remap the player controls. Which is something the consoles dont let you do for some reason.

Kind of decided I wouldn’t buy a new Civ game until I read a review where the AI actually works well. (whether fan mod fix or actual game fix)
