21 dead, 1,500 protesters detained (and many now likely ‘disappeared’, no food, no medicine, not even toilet paper.

It feels like the equivalent of your rental property burning down. You weren’t really evicted, per se, but you also don’t have the option to live there anymore. For the tenant (worker) it doesn’t make a huge difference, but for the landlord (GM), it isn’t like they had a choice to allow you to continue to live there.

I also love it when I hear, “I don’t pay any income taxes, I refund back every year!”

If you’re getting a tax refund, you need to fire your accountant immediately. You should be gaining a return on that investment, not giving it away interest-free to Uncle Sam. That kind of piss-poor money management is exactly why you couldn’t afford the Bugatti yacht.

If only there was a way to incorporate some sort of latching mechanism..... maybe put a very clear handle for the passengers to use to open a door.

More to the point, couldn’t they integrate the emergency pull into the standard handle? Like normal pressure activates the standard electric switch to pop the door open, but a panicked high-pressure pull breaks away the trim, and the handle is connected by a cable to a manual release. No need for a “secret” hidden

Emergency door release should be more visible. I mean, it is usually passengers, not owners, in the back seat, and do owners need to explain safety procedures for every guest?

Rather, I think they’re scared that the existence of the NES classic is going to somehow cannibalize Virtual Console (and maybe even Switch hardware) sales. Which is ludicrous, of course, but that’s Nintendo!

Modern cars don’t have their performance greatly increase after break in because the engine/drivetrain parts are made with tight tolerances from the factory. In terms of quantifiable qualities, there may be a slight difference in highway mpg after break in (1-2 mpg at the very most) but not any noticeable difference

Did they say it like “Don’t worry, the full power comes after the break in period...” and then quickly change the subject?

According to the source article, they cited that keeping the plane in the driveway violated building safety codes, which sounds like pretty weak sauce... If it was as clear cut as a zoning ordinance violation, I think they would’ve led with that. He says he’s going to sue the town for $5M.

Great thank you for that very through explanation of how some neighborhoods work....Such rules don’t apply in Oceanside. You are perfectly allowed to keep a boat in your driveway and there are no airplane-specific clauses.

What are you on about with hangers? Most private planes don’t have a hanger, they sit outside. And most airlines only have their aircraft in a hanger when it’s under repair otherwise it sits outside. He had no money for a hanger as the article states.

It says in the article “lacking money to rent a hanger, he kept it in his driveway”

Well, we are talking about a 16 year old. LOL. My advice is, and has been, different for adults.

I’m A High School Student Looking For My First Ride! What Car Should I Buy?

Yup. I used to work in the insurance industry myself, and most of this story is standard fare. The back and forth is normal while the adjuster does their...adjusting. It sounds like the owner was hoping for a large payout so they could wash their loan. People placing too much monetary value on their property is

If you don’t understand the subtle difference between carrying a holstered gun on your person and actively pointing it at someone, you’re beyond help.

And what about compassion for the people that need a ride from the airport?

Let’s get this straight, Samurai, sidekicks and trackers are pretty bad ass off road even when stock. I had one and I want another. Possibly one of the most under rated vehicles of all time.
