As of right now a lot of nzb sites are closing registration because of the the mass people trying to join them. They are not use to handling that amount of traffic. I think in a month of two there will be a lot of open registrations but I think a lot of them will because private.

for ubuntu 11.10 I am using mediatomb it works great for streamming in your home. from my android device I use UPnPlay. (I use both combind) note: you may have to tweek mediatomb to make sure the stream does not freeze on you.
