From what I see people who buy All track, are someone who doesn’t want bit fat outback with CVT, they want smaller and nimble wagon instead.

I was wondering who they think is buying the Sportwagen? It isn’t BMW or Merc buyers. I doubt this report is correct. VW has always sold a goodly number of inexpensive station wagons to young families. I seriously doubt they are abandoning that market.

Can’t agree with you more. Just this week had a Toyota Avalon (a hateful, ugly barge) with it as a rental and found it annoying and largely useless. If there is enough traffic that it is useful, there really is too much traffic to be using cruise control in the first place.
