I love that there is Permadeath, because it pushes me to try much harder. That being said, I played Filthy Casual Mode because I form too much of an emotional connection with these pixels and am depressed for days if I move on and leave someone dead.

They should have two domains of difficulty. Casual and Hardcore then choose Normal, Hard, Butt-clenching, and Impossible difficulties.

I absolutely agree.. It's one of the things keeping me from playing the previous games in the series because I know me, I will just reload the save if one of my units dies and then it just gets repetitive.
