That’s an actual argument and one that shouldn’t be ignored. My personal opinion, and it is just that, is that Violent Serial Rapists escalate - as Bernardo did before Karla, and that escalated into Murder.

Do I think she tried to cover her ass? Yeah. Absolutely. The husband was Paul Bernardo, who remains in jail for having been the scarborough rapist and was the man who beat Karla within an inch of her life and made her eat his shit.

My words stand. If you did something horrific at the hands of an abuser. A male abuser that made you eat his feces and caved in your face with a flashlight and forced you to do unspeakable things. Yeah. I’d be right here. For you. Even if you tell me now you wouldn’t want that? I’d be here anyway.

Except that maybe her/his mom wasn’t a serial killer. That her/his mom was a victim of severe abuse and that maybe there’s something she can show her child... that maybe she can help her child not go that road. I think that’s what folks are sposed to do with their kids.
