Ugh, Tavi's dress gave me a total flashback to the granny-style (and it WAS a style) dress that my aunt made for me in the early '70s and which I wore for a school picture in 4th grade.

This story and all your wonderful comments reminds my of how much I adore Sigourney Weaver, and the Alien movies.

I like the way you think! And, IMO, you are correct.

@over-the-hill-mountain-lioness, I LOVE your handle. Perfection.

I swore when I left corporate financial services fir years ago that I would never wear pantyhose again, and I've mostly stuck to that. I like to wear dark patterned hose w/boots, or a certain dressy dress, and heavier tights in the winter. Otherwise its bare-legged.

This really strikes a chord with me. I'm somewhere in the middle. I grew up working class in a large Westchester County, NY suburb that, if you say the name, will have many people saying, kind of impressed.... "Ooh, you're from [CITY]! Very nice!" I had a much different experience than they, or most of the people

David I just can't quit you... despite the fact that I think most of Californication is shite, I can't stop watching it. I love him, his bad boy ways, and his voice.

@Diziet, I really appreciate what you're saying and have found everyone's comments on this thread to be so fascinating. Let me just say that I NEVER would have thought I'd be "that person" who would go outside the bounds of my very long married-in-all-but-paper relationship...but I have (not "all the way" but

It's a sad sign of my current unhappiness in my long-term relationship, and my newfound wandering eye for younger, sexy, ambitious, talented men, that I am way, way, WAY too excited about Jack White's divorce news. He is my fantasy music boyfriend (along with Bruno Mars, my emerging music BF).

Agree — but I still find him so incredibly sexy... and my tastes usually run to dark Latino men.

wow, cosmic, I just finished a Trader Joe's Mango-Chili popsicle before I clicked on this.

my thoughts exactly! Was about to post that I feel like I need a shower after reading this.

Re: Penelope Cruz, if it was part of my job description to look thin and fabulous at all times, hell yeah I'd exercise 4 hours a day. I think I'd kind of like it — I do now hit the gym or do something for at least 1 hour most days of the week.

amen — I had a credit there for over a year from returning a pair, and after much perusal all I ended up buying was a pair of Chucks — best thing they had.

Yes he has aged fantastically well and seems to have a good perspective on things. Let's hear it for foxy middle-aged people!

thanks for your good words, I'm working up to broaching the subject w/him. "Talking" about it here and reading other people's experiences really helps too.
