I find Cathy Horyn's tone to be kind of arch, and I was turned off by the Snooki article because of it — thought she was mean/condescending.

@ceilidh: "titscrepancy" — that made my day. Awesome word!

I found myself being sympathetic to Betty in this one. She seems to be *trying* to be nicer to Sally, and I though the scene w/Dr. Edna was so sad — she seemed to be trying to telegraph her own need for comfort and a sympathetic ear.

@Theacracy: I was so sad for Peggy — she's looking for a worthy role model/mentor and thought she found it in Faye. Felt a pang of familiarity w/that...kind of projected that she is lonely @ the office for a peer-friend.

@Gnatalby: Funny you say that, while watching I asked whether the kids were stoned, because to me it sure sounded like it.

This is a whole lotta chic going on. Love it, so effortless.

@Sabriel: I kind of agree w/you. As someone who is hip/youthful enough to read this site, but who prefers large type + can't see *anything* w/out reading glasses, I'm a little offended. But I do not use an eyeglass leash. No. I will hunt them down and carry multiple pairs, but no leash. That is for old people.

@whitesycamore: OMG I love the red on red on red. The look/feel is giving me flashbacks to early childhood advertising memories of 60s-era logos for supermarket brands like Bohack, A&P, and others in the corners of my mind. I'm really having a visceral reaction...crazy! Thanks for sharing.

The word that came to me while viewing this beautiful collection is mystery...the (un)earthly, woodland vibe of some of the dresses, use of feathers, butterflies, etc.. So poetic. Have to say, I really didn't tune into McQueen-as-art until I started following the Jez coverage of him and I am hooked. Thanks for the

Damn, she is solid. Let's hear it for big legged girls everywhere. She looks amazing.

my rule, learned in (Catholic) grade school: kiss it up to God, then eat it. Works every time.

I audibly gasped when I saw Queen Helen in full. That color! That hip brooch! That confidence! More than fab. Must.have.now.

@lisas: I think she is so veiny because she is so lean, plus she's 50+. As someone only 3 years younger than Madge, I continue to be in awe of how fantastic she looks and the work and discipline it's taken to stay that way. As we get older, gravity, hormones and life can make it REALLY HARD to maintain/achieve a

Dame Helen is my role model for awesome aging, growing gray beautifully, and being sexy. I am so with her on the high heels. I am vertically challenged and, right or wrong, when I want to feel more powerful I want to be taller, so go for platforms/stilettos. That being said, my other favorite shoes are Dansko clogs
