I just paid off half our remaining car loan.

I provide IT support at a university, and it’s certainly not the pay. O.o

We also donate rather than trying to sell, and it actually makes it easier for me to get rid of stuff. If I am not using an item, I can be pretty sure that there is someone else who could be using that item, so better the item go to someone who can use it.

Lesson learned: Hold the empty hand that is not holding the spatula, so the hot pan is not accidentally grabbed.

I think our ideas of perfect pancakes are quite different.

Strangely enough, my husband and I like to be in the same room, facing each other, even when we’re on our computers. He has a gaming laptop, I have a higher-end laptop for photo processing, because it’s nice to be comfy AND in the same room with my sweetie AND able to play/work on the computer—all at the same time. Or

It’s very likely. My dad did it, and at least one of our faculty did.

Yes but... if you don’t have credit card debt and your finances are in order, remember that the other impermanent thing is life. We live happily spending less than we make, and our only debt is our mortgage and a car loan (the car loan that I hope to pay off before summer) but sometimes (for some of us) it’s easy to

I was wondering about that myself. Growlers are sold at local breweries or bars that sell local beers. I’m not sure I’ve seen any of those beers anywhere but on tap, and a growler is the only way to take ‘em home. (Says the woman who doesn’t drink beer but has a husband who does.)

I work in IT support, so I well know the importance of stepping back from a problem. :)

And office-mate and I would do this when one of us was stressed or freaking out. I’d pull out dark Ghiradelli(sp) squares, and we’d talk about how good it smelled and taste it and then giggle because it felt silly, but it also pulled us out of and away from whatever we were freaking about.

I have a butterfly step can, and it’s amazing how much I like it.

Did anyone glance at this and think she really really had to pee?

As someone who has suffered from depression (and anxiety, and OCD) since she was a young teenager (almost 2/3rds of my life now. Oi.) depression (and anxiety and OCD) are really hard to truly explain to people who THINK they know what these mental health issues are. (“I like to eat only orange jelly beans! OCD! HA HA

Something I’ve taken to doing for gifts (when I can get away with it) is to wrap the gift in something useful. For example, for my cousin’s wedding I got her a variety of baking supplies, so I wrapped the items in a tablecloth and pretty dish towels.

I don’t think a credit card would have stayed securely in the tiny pocket.

My great-grandmother stored her Thanksgiving turkey in her stove.
(My guess is that it vented directly outside—and thus was quite cold when it wasn’t on, but this is only a guess.)

OMG. I NEED THIS.

Don’t be. I wouldn’t live anywhere else besides WEst (by God) Virginia.

I have been watching the Rose Bowl parade from the East Coast for my entire life. It was always my favorite part of New Year’s Day, seeing the floats.
