Yes! Exactly! I enter everything into Quicken (via Neat Scanner or Genius Scan or manually entering [Amazon kindle books]) and it makes me pay attention to what I’m spending.

We can't fit a king bed in our bedroom, but are happy with our queen, so that's okay. (And our bedroom is essentially like yours—there is a narrow aisle to access the dressers but otherwise the whole room is the bed.

You could make one with a piece of ribbon with bangles tied onto the end, but I just snatched up a bunch when I first saw them. I actually have one made of ribbon, but the ribbon often turns and gets creased/folded and I get all twitchy. So string/thread it is for me. :)
