It's really way too early to make a real opinion on it yet. As you say, it's not been developed enough, however with such a huge following and interest, it probably will encourage the author to improve.

I can't even imagine doing Inferno without using the AH unless you like redoing 100 times the bottlenecking zone.

To be honest, for any Diablo need, there are D3 (more casual and forgiving) and Path of Exile (hardcore brutality, you'll just get slaughtered mercilessly if you suck and the passive skilll tree and gem system are..overwhelming to say the least).
