This is a photo of an Army HH-60L with the built-in hoist mount and a Goodrich (formerly Lucas Western) electric hoist. I chose this one because you can see how the mount is integrated into the cabin roof structure, and is designed to separate from the aircraft if the load limits are exceeded (like snagging the hoist

You’re getting that mount because it’s hideously expensive to refit a Black Hawk with an external hoist mount after they have been assembled. You have to remove the rotors, hub, transmission, engines and top deck (unloading the aircraft), put it up on jacks, de-skin the upper fuselage, cut out a structural member from

electrical turn signals weren’t widely used until midway through the 1950s.

With the never ending stream of pictures taken from the ramp by my friends in the flight company, I’m keen to agree that you can see everything.

And you can stand up in the cabin.

Man that looks like a pain in the neck! I haven’t seen any reports of issues with our mounts, not sure if its a different design.

When we deployed we had the newest Fox model -47s in the Army. We brought six over, I think. I was told the two we tore down and sent to reset had nearly been in country for like seven years. The aircraft we received from other units when we got back to the US were absolute pieces of shit. Still are, actually. We had

Can you say flat plate drag...

Those specs are correct. Breeze eastern sounds familiar.

Looks like the same hoist as the MH-60R/S the Navy uses, either a Breeze-Eastern or Lucas-Western hoist. Rated for 600lbs, dual hook, 250' of cable.

Why is it always about race with these cops?

Nothing like waiting for an aircraft you tore down in Afghanistan to come back to you from reset while it’s in the paint shed for three months!

Looking forward to seeing what CGAS Cape Cod gets.

The aircraft was likely due for a repaint regardless of what color they sprayed it. If anything this single color paintjob probably took less labor time than the current orange and white livery.

SPOOOOOOOOOOON!!

Reminds me of the old Royal Navy Sea King models I had as a kid
