It's pretty much a blackhawk with a lower max gross weight (structural limit) at this point. I don't remember which exactly, but I could swear they got something in the GE700 series for engines (which is the same family as the Hawks)

THe ole Huey still has way-better visibility though.

Agreed!

We had to use it for something! We have an OV1 parked on a stand at the ARMY Aviation museum at FT Rucker, AL.

Lambos are awesome... but with a wheel base of a Hummer and rear visibility of Ray Charles, they are lousy at autocross.

Huh... never noticed (and you are probably right).

While I would fly the balls out of such an aircraft but it still needs a swiveling chain gun of some sort. Strafing is fun, but not ideal for CAS. I will sing the praises of an off-the-shelf program if the military ever learns how to do it quickly and effectively... and... well... let's be honest... quick-and-effect

Hahahah!

It seems my ninja-edit mentioning the 30mm never took.

The ole radials are aural sex. That P-47 could fly home after throwing several pistons at zee Germans, and it limping home after losing a great deal of it's engine are not just anecdotal stories. I. Love. Old. Rotaries. Hell, I have a huuuuuge soft spot for the P47.

That being said, the A10 rocks turbofans... and

Helicopters have their uses, my own bias aside. Rotary wing and fixed wing each have niches to fill. My issue is that fixed assets AREN'T presently filing that niche well (Sans the pricy AC130, or not-quite-perfect A10).

I am definitely a function > form kind of guy. Yeah, it's that quirky looking girl that does everything right in the sheets. Mmmm. Dated one of them. Miss her sometimes. *coughs*

HOLY CRAP, how did I never know about this little plane!? I have made several posts and made many-many-many statements to my Army buds in conversation about "What would make a good CAS craft and every conversation came down to:

1. Loiter time.
2. Chain gun / cannon like the Apache or Cobra on a turret. 20 or 23mm

I give a lot of credit to the guys that do that job (got two linemen in my unit that do this out of 500's or 530's, and I had considered attempting to fly for them for a while as well). That's a job that requires some dang good control touch.

I get spoiled in some ways with the UH60 - power for most days and good

...

[edit-deleted] Totally misread your post.

They aren't the fastest car out there... but the sound... man, it's aurel sex.

1. Diesel.
2. Mercedes Diesel.
3. Literally has everything to include the kitchen sink.
4. Will baby.
5. Can tow a Miata.
6. Room to sleep 3 additional groupies.
7. Easily voted best van to live in, down by the river.

$65k at time of posting.

What’s weird is it is the styling (and huge trim gaps in the case of my old Dart) that I actually do remember most of. The bow-curved back window, long-arse doors that I am not sure ever actually lined up on the latch, roll-up windows, and an electrical system a high school Sophomore could rewire... all still very

Modern cars are great. But the character of those old (frankly terrible) Cars is what I miss. They had personality.
