They used asps last time, so I guess laughter may be an improvement.

It won’t. I give it 3 years tops before the track is a housing development.

Name one track that actually makes money on their F1 GP. There’s a reason the classic European venues are disappearing, it’s nearly impossible to make back the $25M sanction fee on ticket sales. That’s why more and more races end up being hosted by oil-rick oligarchs, with the remainder having just enough local funds

They need a promoter who understands racing, and values the fan experience. At both weekends, the exotic car corrals were nowhere near prominently located, and VIP parking was on a dirt road. While the track facilities themselves are top notch, everything surrounding it is probably the worst many series get every

I agree with you. Usually the companies sponsoring this level of racing are the ones owned by the driver's parents/family...

Sorry, the Wright Motorsports Porsche was out to get Patrick more time at COTA, he owns the car. It won’t be racing this weekend sadly.

Bernie would give ISIS a race if it made him money.

The Robert Earl Keen reference has made you my official favorite writer

The opossum t-shirt was presented in acknowledgement of the opossum Lally hit during the Rolex 24 earlier in the year.

As an experienced dad of four, I can attest that whatever your are doing that has your charges giddily yelling “FASTER!” and/or “AGAIN!” over and over is probably exactly the right thing to do :)

Thats it, thank you! I wanted to show my friend and couldn’t find it even searching google.

Mark Miles is an absentee CEO and has pissed off just about every major partner and stakeholder the series currently has without even having to mention the team owners and drivers. When the team owners and drivers are frantically trying to get in touch with the guy and don’t even get a response back, that says a lot

Trust me, I feel the same frustration. I usually enjoy what I see on the track, but they really can’t get out of there own way when it comes to marketing and planning.

One of the biggest problems with COTA is Eddie Gossage - for better or for worse, Texas Motor Speedway has been a staple on the Indycar calendar for a long time now, and he does an awful lot of saber... er... pistol-rattling any time the idea of racing at COTA comes up.

Every Morgan is allowed to go Vintage racing, this could be a a late 2000’s model for all we know ;)

I am sure that the sales manager wanted to know if you sold the bleeding guy a car before he left in the ambulance!

“...a few hours later, one of the members of GM’s elite driving team, the Valve Seals, approached me. He pressed a piece of the wrecked Caddy in my hand, looked me in the eye and just said, ‘thank you.’”
