Yes but these temps are reaching cities that have never experienced them before. You deal with it all of the time. However, some of these temps in the South are deadly to those that do not have the experience, materials, or education to deal with them.

Yep! It got down to 15 last Jan here in Phoenix. Our A/C units are all rated up to 135 for our scorching summer temps. The trade off is crappy heat pumps. Ours quit at 30. It is hard for a city that does not live in those temps to adjust to them for 5 days straight.
