It feels like the Japanese always have such interesting words for very specific meanings. “We can this, Wanatakyotobishu which means, to feed dogs within the Kyoto province during the hours of 6 to 8 pm.”

Taken from Car and Driver:
“ Don’t bother working out why the 3.0-liter six wears 40i badging and the 2.0-liter X3 goes by 30i (a moniker once used for six-cylinder X3s); Germany has all but given up numerology with any foundation in reality. “
I have been of the opinion for a while that, Buick has always been ableto make a great car but has not understood how to apply styling/design that makes enough people care to take it seriously. Does anyone else feel that way? Why/why not?
Fact: Wagons always have, and always will be, ahead of their time. So I see no problem with this thesis.
Over powered rear wheel drive vehicle + RUSSIAN teenager = What did you think was going to happen?
But... its Russia!
On this weeks episode of, “Let me tell you about this vehicle thats probably not going to come to the US because the American market is ok with mediocrity and being ugly and boring and it would probably be a little too expensive anyway but for some reason that’s not going to stop Jalopnik from pointing it out to…
Same goes for the Subaru community. Unless you have a wrx, forget about anyone waving back to you. I had a legacy wagon which is a somewhat rare car and usually known by subaru fanboys, and literally not one single driver in any other subaru has waved at me. So I said fuck it and bought an Audi s4.
God the butt shape of that car bothers me to no end. Same as a 2005 bmw 6 series. *Barf*
My first reaction was, “Oh god, someone must have suggested that because the civic did so well, that they should let the designers add all kinds of shapes and useless angles on the car..... please dont let that come true.”
Can confirm. I own an 05 lgt with Blizzaks. I make other drivers look real stupid when it snows.
I’m pretty sure it’s a goose/duck/waterfowl inner tube. I think...
Was the production of this video someone’s highschool senior project or something???? I have so many questions....
Hahaha, just because Latin Americans might not be offended by the name doesn’t mean that someone else won’t be. This is America. We have ascended to a new era where we even have a population of people who will get offended for other people. Rest assured someone will come along and make a fuss.
Maybe if they’d make a real goddamn wagon where the base model wasnt a goddamn $40,000 luxury design instead or a half-assed hatchback which kinda sort looks/works like a wagon.
Lord knows I’ve got one and its just the best. Still stock though; not sure if I should keep it stock as a sort of collectors car or modify the hell out of it when I finally pay it off.
On one hand, you could say that all these Automakers are making these damn wagons too expensive and that if they were cheaper, we’d buy more. But it never fails that even when we have cheaper options here in the US, our market still doesn’t buy them.
I don’t really understand why though. I see a ton of people my age…
Oh wow. I am an Industrial Designer who’s first job was essentially a design engineer for bathroom goodies such as touchless soap dispensers, automatic toilets, etc.
I really respect the fact that you denote the difference between GOOD design engineers and BAD ones, pretty early in your blog. I really want to…
