Internalized sexism manifests in strange ways!

Isn’t it nice to know that even with the most progressive platform ever, a woman just couldn’t be good enough for the pure of heart. 🙄

“If there was one minuscule shard of silver lining to take from Trump’s presidency, it was that perhaps this was the particular apocalypse the Democrats needed to reinvigorate its stultified base, one so underwhelmed by Hillary Clinton it largely couldn’t be bothered to vote.”

I for one am pleased as punch by this decision. Perez has a great record. His work on police accountability, voter rights, and unions has been steadfast for decades. Just because he wasn’t Sander’s first pick doesn’t mean he’s evil (or as the kids like to incorrectly say today “neoliberal”).

Them not writing about the administration in the same tones as Jezebel and HuffPo doesn’t mean they aren’t absolutely hounding them.

I would argue that all 3 of those women get called out/have gotten called out for their white privilege and racist comments all the time in a way that I don’t see Maher get called out by anyone. I would argue that it’s less a white liberal issue and more of a white liberal guy issue. It’s the same with Bernie, god

There is absolutely nothing endearing about Megyn Kelly. Why anyone would think we want to spend part of our mornings with her is asinine.

The legend of Santa Claus can be traced back hundreds of years to a monk named St. Nicholas. It is believed that Nicholas was born sometime around 280 A.D. in Patara, near Myra in modern-day Turkey. Much admired for his piety and kindness, St. Nicholas became the subject of many legends.

Working poor in rural communities face difference challenges than working poor in urban communities, but that doesn’t make them any less poor. These houses are not assets with any value for sale by any reasonable measure - these are houses that barely have electricity and running water. Many still have outhouses,

I get what you’re saying, but there is a lot of nuance you are missing. There are lots of people in the US who are poor by pretty much any measure, despite owning the house they live in. I’m from a rural area. My home county has about 3,000 residents - the poverty rate hovers around 25%, and 85% of families own their

Vegans, like everyone else, range in intelligence. I think most moderately intelligent vegans know that there’s no such thing as a 100% vegan lifestyle and that all human activity means that some animals, as you say, are going to suffer. As my friend, who’s been vegan for over 20 years says, he still rides in cars

are those really westwood pieces (the sweaters, not the fellas)?

Breathe. It’s going to be okay.

Yes, that’s exactly what I’m doing. I hadn’t spoken to my sister for several months and didn’t see either of them over the holidays. It was blissful and feels like the right thing to do. Thank you.

We need to start the hunt now for a sane/intelligent/charismatic leader for the democratic ticket for 2020. And start yesterday to toss out a lot of republicants in 2018.

Can we talk for a minute about how fucking adorable Miley and Liam are? Visiting hospitals, wearing matching jammies, saving the animals, etc.?

Right. Remember when Krugman and all the other writers you hate warned about demonizing Hillary Clinton? Remember the warnings that Sanders needed to support her when it was clear she was going to win the primaries instead of fanning the fires of the rumors she had stolen the primary elections from him? And Sanders

Honestly, I’m not sure that it is gaining power. I realize this may be a hot take interpretation of the data, but it’s entirely possible that this baloney just looks like it’s gaining power because the small band of crazies is really scared, and really energized, about how their world is disappearing.
