A couple years ago my parents got me a couple GelPro mats. One for in front of my prep space and one for in front of the sink. At first I thought they were a silly luxury, but with as much time as I spend in the kitchen, I have grown to love them.

Putting pullouts on most of our cabinet shelves. Lumber and hardware came out to about $15 per pullout, and it was totally worth it.

Someone should propose a corresponding study where government employees (especially law enforcement) are stopped before they arrive to work, give the same swab/blood samples and have them tested to see how many government employees had drugs or alcohol in their system when they started their work days.
