MG, can you write all the popsci posts from now on? That was accurate.

@321gillian: was the "Fields of Athenry" with the 'RA chorus?

@vamusical: wow. WOW. Did they all get amazing alimony or something? O

My boyfriend keeps close tabs on how much I weigh by feeling my boobs and ass daily. Sometimes even more than once a day.

@electralou: I think someone did mention it in the comments below...? A designer beginning with E?

@thebestofjillhives: ha! I wish! But no. We use "hoover" as a verb, like you guys use "vacuum".

@Pigasus: I feel you. Stay away from those pointy applicator thingies!

@sissylarue: the non-applicator types I've used (lillets or tampax or Lidl's, cos I'm classy) are always manufacture to expand widthways, rather than lengthways like applicator ones. Hence my slight confusion.

Does the US have other brands of non-applicator tampons i.e.: is "ob" just a brand name used as a product type, like we use "hoover"?

@beabea24: you may have to fight me for it: it's gorgeous!

What I really, really want: a stunt-driving course. Just because.

@exliontamer: If you're sure of when you ovulated, I think testing the day you expect your period would be accurate. However, if you ovulated late and weren't aware of it, you could be testing way too early and not realise. Probably another test a week later if you still haven't gotten a period would be the best

@exliontamer: AFAIK it's easy to get a false negative if you test too early. The earliest I've ever heard of getting a positive and accurate result was 9 days after ovulation e.g.: if you had a 28-day cycle, and ovulated on day 14, day 23. This depends on the sensitivity of the test, though [www.peeonastick.com]

@Catie: AFAIK, by analogy with the pill, this is totally fine to do (as long as the ring is never in for less than three weeks). Am not the PP person though!

@prestocaro: urban myths have a life of their own it seems.

@prestocaro: whaa? I've never heard that. Unless it means you're drinking so much you puke up your pill...

I could not be more upset and disturbed that these things were printed as though I was making some sort of categorical analysis of people I really don't know

@Gingerlime: word. Her book Misconceptions had a big impact on me, too. But this... No, Naomi.

Essure isn't totally effective until 3+ months after insertion, and you need a hysterogram to confirm it's worked. It takes time for the scar tissue to build up around the implant.
