@ChoirGrrl: thankfully she does. I'm not sure if she ever crossed the line from disordered eating to eating disorder, but she is healthy and happy now.
Maybe the fact her parents hit her so much contributed to her discomfort with authority or rules. I'd be pretty uncomfortable with any authority that assaulted me on a regular basis, too.

@slowpoke.r: I suppose because it implies an earlier pregnancy loss and therefore doesn't acknowledge the loss of the baby itself as much as 'premature birth' does. I realise this is a personal thing.
@Grim Reaper of the Forest: yeah that's what I was wondering. I'd probably say 'premature birth' then, but miscarriage is a misnomer.
