I'm not talking about Iraq from an intelligence failure perspective. I'm talking about it from a trillions-of-dollars-in-the-hole-and-hundreds-of-thousands-dead-and-for-what? perspective.

No, that there's such a thing as exercising power when it would be inappropriate, financially irresponsible, and just plain unwise. Yes, people getting gassed sucks. A lot. Yes, I would love for it to stop. But going in there is only going to make a huge mess messier.

You know, I was under the impression that we had learned our lesson from Iraq.

Sort-of-ish, maybe. Except rather than someone slowly going deeper in to the Heart of Darkness, the game would start out right in it.
