I never realized how simple the stage design was in SMB64 until I saw this. Yet somehow, they did so much with so little.

Why not just use an old headpiece once you get a chest piece you want to upgrade with? The way I see it, if you get a new chest piece and the two slot item is still more stats than the one new piece with your old piece, then you're better off wearing the two slot item anyway.
