This document made me want to watch Darkon again.

Think Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island, Magic: The Gathering, or any fantasy book ever. They are invariably created by evil wizards out of actual corpses (not from living people). Traits are similar to standard zombies otherwise, although they can usually remain animated even with very few remaining body parts. Killing the

I'm so glad they included Evil Magic Zombies. They were always the original zombies to me, and I find them much more believable than radiation zombies or space zombies. Disease zombies are okay, but just not that interesting.

I do this, and - when I bring lunch to work - I actually put the $10 or so I saved into my savings account, to really drive it home.

It's not the customer's responsibility to make sure the sales rep gets a good commission. It is, in fact, completely irrelevant to the customer's job. You're like the people who say it's immoral to have a second job because you're taking a job from somebody else. Total nonsense.

Asians can very much be racist against each other. Japan in the '30s and '40s was overtly racist. China pretty much always has been.

This conversation convinces me of something I've always suspected... that Ultima Online was the best MMO ever.

Dude, it's just people being jackasses on the Internet, to varying degrees. They're still real people. It is absolutely worth spending time to figure out why they do it. If everyone who deliberately says dumb, inflammatory shit online is a psychopath or sociopath, well, that makes most of us.

That's the thing, though. It's NOT real psychopathy. It's just indifference in one particular situation or aspect of their lives - online. Just like someone can kill or kidnap people for a living as a soldier or cop and then go home to their family and live a normal life, just like businesspeople can crush the poor

I don't agree with this, but it's a very interesting perspective and I'm glad you shared it.

It could improve innovation, and it definitely would for some companies. But Wall Street loves improved margins... that's a huge win for the executives. Chances are they'd split the difference. I wouldn't mind owning a lot of shares of EA or Activision for that very reason. Good prospects once the new cycle takes

Yea, I agree with all that, and yea, prices are pretty low now indexed to inflation. I just don't think we'll ever see a nominal pricing decrease. But you're right, it could slow the expansion to $70.

Exactly. The idea that we should be sad because his kids don't get to own something worth around a billion dollars is absurd, which they earned by doing literally nothing besides for existing, is absurd.

The trouble is, they wouldn't sell games for less money. Not as long as the console stores remain walled gardens, which they probably would forever. They would just pocket the difference and add it to their margins and pat themselves on the back for a job well done.

I have never been in such a situation on any side, but I don't really agree with you re: the other person. Cheating on someone in secret is heinous; cheating openly is pretty bad too. But I really don't put any blame on the person they cheat with. The cheatee doesn't owe the cheated anything - they're a perfect

Yea, I've loved it ever since I found a copy for $1 at a used book sale. Really fun, too bad that it's mostly forgotten. But clearly not entirely forgotten!

A Feast for Murkrows? A Hurricane of Honedges?

Just wanted you to know I got this reference and liked it very much.

Assuming retail would be $60 otherwise, for every $1,499 you spend on games, you'll be able to treat yourself to a taco from Taco Bell you couldn't have afforded otherwise. Now that's progress!

I was following their Twitter feed over the weekend and can add a bit more context... they were testing the final build. And they finished it on Sunday, which is why they're one step closer. I think that's the one they're submitting to Nintendo and Steam... sounds like it's good to go assuming it gets through their
