Totally, and especially on Xbox360 you're limited to console's capability to transfer chat audio via the controller which is super low bandwidth compared to PS3's USB (or Bluetooth) So even if you calibrate the headset mic you still get/transmit crappy chat audio.

One thing you need to mention when you're comparing noise cancelling headphones is if it's a feedback, feed-forward or hybrid noise cancellation. In other words, where the noise is listened and placement of microphones accordingly.
