His business has really been going downhill ever since that American laundromat opened.

It's not the devs fault Nintendo won't provide the hardware or online infrastructure required for games like this.

Nintendo makes consoles for Nintendo's games, anybody who can shoehorn their game on there with them has a chance to make some money.

Just because it's running on an engine that can run on the WiiU doesn't mean that every game made in that engine can therefore run on the WiiU...come on.

Several comments about the WiiU already, for some reason.
They won't bring the game to the 360 and PS3 because the power of the consoles doesn't allow all the features they want. The WiiU is much more comparable to those two than it is to the PS4 and XB1, so, logically, they can't bring this to the WiiU either.

Stop

Game doesn't work on 360 or PS3, won't work on WiiU.

No, it's about being underpowered.
They've said they can't take the game to the 360 or the PS3, so that intrinsically means they can't take it to the Wii U either.

The article said next gen hardware.

It's not about taking chances, it's just an underpowered console.

In America we would never be allowed to pose with guns in our yearbook.

This guy can give Armin a run for his money:

Ugh. I was about to say, "I think this person is actually advocating pedophilia as being not problematic." And lo and behold, he actually confirms this later in-thread. Completely sick. Don't bother with this one, though of course you are completely right!

Something serious happened, which required the attention of most - if not all - the members of the small dev team. Thus, instead of coding and drawing and doing general development work, the team had to deal with a sexual predator, and prepare for/deal with the subsequent media attention.

They're not specifically

It's a legal conflict too, no one wants press to the effect of "Starbound is a hotbed of pedophilic activity and child endangerment!"

If the Bakery could somehow affect what was going on in a positive way, then fucking yes you lunatic.

Small team + serious crimes = most of the people distracted

There is also an online component to the game, and a sexual predator could be using a game server OR their forums. The team is small, and if they want to deal with this appropriately, it diverts them from development.

Bravo to the company for making themselves available to anyone who encounters the issue though. I know a lot of companies do that, but I haven't seen a lot of highly-public messages to that effect in the past.

It's very unfortunate that this happened in the first place, and it is frustrating that people take advantage of others over the internet, bu I'm glad the team is taking this seriously. Good on them, and I wish the team the best of luck on the situation and the game.
