Incidentally, I tend towards thinking evolutionary psych is BS, too. But I have a friend who is into feminist evo-psych, which is how I know about Hrdy and whatnot. :)

That's standard evo-psych dogma, but it's not a perspective that all evolutionary psychologists hold. There are a number of feminist evolutionary psychologists such as Sarah Hrdy who have radically reconceptualized typical evo-psych BS. Sounds like this book is in that vein.

I read it yesterday but I didn't comment because I felt like I was just echoing others' thoughts. I think you sound like you're in a place where you can handle it, and obviously you're curious. I'm not sure why you wouldn't say yes at this point, based on your own comments. It doesn't sound like you have much to lose.
