I think having a steady mindfulness practice is one of the best ways of looking into yourself and getting more clarity around what you truly want. It's not something you can figure out in an instant but you can do it over time.

I totally agree with not checking email continuously. There is just an energy sapping not to mention a productivity apocalypse.
I like the idea. Thanking the person for asking you do speak louder rather than apologising to them is a far more positive way of handling the situation.
Yup. Progress / success are too often associated with the idea of comfort when actually the two are often mutually exclusive. It's not possible to achieve lasting success without putting yourself in a place of discomfort ... imho
Actually there is one website called spreader(dot)com that teaches you how to speed read. It teaches your brain to circumvent the process of 'subvocalisation' (reading the words in your mind) which can 3x your reading speed while improving comprehension.
Totally agree. The best time to find and solve problems is when you're new - before the corporate drag sets in.
Great points. But in today's age of information overload I wonder how feasible it is to spend so much time digesting content.
This is so true. I agree completely. Another really important thing to do when you're confronted with a big task and you feeling like procrastinating is to look for where the fear is. This almost always solves the problem for me.
The unfortunate part is if Apple figures out that you replace the screen yourself it voids the warranty :-(
Great idea! Thanks for sharing. This is why I keep coming back to life hacker :-)
I love it ... spooky and all!
Exactly! :-)
This sounds like a case of major candidate oversupply.
FANTASTIC post. Thank you! I've been wanting to know how to do this for ages! I'll probably go for the minimalist approach (rather than quit altogether). Only problem is that I have two Facebook pages that are linked to my business.
I agree that doing something scary each day (stepping outside your comfort zone) is a good thing. I agree with the point about having a game plan too.
Great questions. Thanks for sharing!
I bought a wemo plug in to manage electricity consumption on my stereo and home theatre system. Haven't got around to using it yet. Gah!
Sadly, it appears that being in IT is becoming increasingly synonymous with living in India! :-(
Now that you mention Sounds of Silence - the poet looks a bit like Art Garfunkel - don't you think?
True. It's a bit cheesy in parts but is so very true. I really liked the poem and the video.
