I got hooked on this, too!

i love not seeing plastic bags floating around everywhere. they arent beautiful.

I’m a linux user, so my list is rather different:

I’ve been using Linux as my primary OS for 10 years or more. I really don’t think it’s any harder to learn linux than it is to figure out where-the-heck Windows put this/that feature that I always depended on with a new version. Migrating from windows XP to windows 8? Linux is way easier. Migrating from windows 7 or 8

No, not “burnt”. Once they get past “juicy” and have passed into “rather dry”, that’s chili meat and is immediately removed from the grill and into the chili meat bin.

I’m a linux user and I love virtual desktops. It increases my screen real estate x4, but I work on one screen at a time. Different screens are for specific apps - browser and email on one, HTML/CSS on #2, Gimp on #3, and Irssi on #4.

I’m currently making my way thorough The History of English Podcast: historyofenglishpodcast.com One of the hats I wear is one of a literacy teacher, so this has explained to me many of the irregularities of English and why. The podcaster is easy to listen to, and most casts last about 30 minutes.

I agree. It’s not that you use a quote or a definition. It’s that you use it all for filler, or as a substitution for thinking, merging it together and showing you understood what you gained from your research.

I’ll look into that Philadelphia card, but hereabouts, you have to live in a given county, and prove it with a PG&E (power company) bill or something like that.

I can’t imagine ever getting married again, but if I did, I’d probably elope. One thing I’ve learned about myself over the years, is that I’m no good at showers, weddings, and/or parties, and bypassing them is almost always a win from my perspective.

When my husband & I got married, we almost did elope about 15

Well, that’s great if you live in NY or Brooklyn. While it’s sad that it’s not much good for the rest of the country, I will point out that many public libraries do offer some interesting and useful online resources ebooks, audio books among a few. The Criterion Collection just isn’t one of them.

Theme songs say a lot, and I think they’re important. My brother and I pay a lot of attention to it, and pass judgment on each one. We loved the new ST:TNG (back when it was new), and noticed how it would change as the years progressed from horns to more violins, etc. When Voyager came out we both sat there listening,

I make my own soap, and use that.

I resent that you describe being shy as a “Bad Habit”. It makes me sound like an evildoer, and I’m not. I’m just shy and introverted. Over the years, I’ve gotten better at certain social situations, but it has taken me my whole life to do that, and trying to shame the Younger Priswell of Years Past would only have

Some of the best memories of my son growing up was our read-aloud time! We started reading to him as soon as he could sit up. He was a busy bottom, so he ended up rolling around on the couch and floor while we read sometimes, but he never went away. When he got older, he played with his Legos while we read. We also

Get some skinned, boneless chicken thighs. Spray non-stick pan coating in frying pan on Medium. Slap thighs into pan, and brown until nearly done. Take a fork in one hand and a pair of kitchen scissors in the other, and cut the chicken into ~1/2" cubes. Continue to cook until done. From here, add some salsa and a bit

Depends. In our area, people die in the extreme heat, so, we have “cooling centers”, public buildings that allow people to loiter where they otherwise wouldn’t, during the 105* summers.

Bento. Japanese people live by bento boxes to pack their lunches. They’ve become popular in the US recently. Evidently San Francisco has a bunch, but you can get really nice bento online, too.

This actually sounds like pretty good reasoning.
