My first computer had 250mb space and 4 mb RAM. At the time, no one could figure out why we needed so much RAM - it was just affectation, most computers only had 2mb RAM. My computer now has 1/2TB space and 4GB RAM. My first tablet, only gotten recently has 1GB RAM and 32GB space.

Why are we talking about giving up email? Email allows us to talk to distant friends and family, handle routine business and generally get things done. You don't have to spend 3 hours a day doing that, unless your job/business requires 3 hours of email a day, and in that case, email is absolutely necessary and this is

I've been making soap for about 20 years. You make soap because it's wonderful stuff. It feels great and washes off cleanly. It's very luxurious.

Actually, where I am, cable is the best thing going as far as internet connections go. I saw a truck around town touting that it was a fiber installer, so maybe we'll get that later, if we're fortunate. Satellite? For TV? Maybe. For internet? Um, no. Latency, latency.

I have an actual egg slicer, and can slice up an egg pretty fast into small cubes. Since I started using a pressure cooker to boil my eggs, removing the shells has gotten much easier, too.

I've been using Gimp exclusively for web design for about 4 years. Gimp continues to improve, and I think I'll stay with it.

Gimpshop is not a continuing project anymore. It hasn't been updated in ages. Better to stay with Gimp.

Great book.

Oh, man, yeah. I don't brew, but if I did, it would make my worms very well fed! Kinda wish I knew someone close by that did. Don't have enough room for collecting spent grain from one of the microbreweries.

Ora Gel. Numbs minor irritations of all types. Mosquito bites, minor cuts, rashes, etc. I always keep some around.

I manage my vermicomposting bin all year round. I add stuff to it, check on the worm population, and generally keep it going. In the spring, I gather up the compost and spread it on the garden.

you must not like books much!

I read pretty fast, and I read many books a year. I'm rarely interested in "speed reading" though. I read at the kitchen table for about a half hour during lunch (sometimes longer), and in the bathroom. I also read on long car trips if I'm not driving. Backlog of books? I have trouble having enough to read! When you

I love QR codes and have a lot of fun creating and playing with them, but I can't imagine creating QR codes for a to-do list.

Kale chips are better made at home fresh than purchased in any form.

I'm with you on the liver. I remember my mom occasionally forcing us to eat liver. As an adult, I never ate liver again, nor ever offered it to family members. I'd rather just take an iron pill with a glass of juice.

I make a point of updating the information of people that I know at least once a year, and I pretty much do it by hand. If I haven't seen them for a while, it gives me a reason to contact them. It may not be efficient, but it's much more personal.

I use a left-handed mouse. It allows me to write with my right hand if necessary. I've gotten to prefer it. When I tech support other people, I use their right handed setups, but at home, I'm lefty.
