I've always thought "gamer" was kind of a narrow-minded label to place on people. Yes, I play and buy a ton of games (easily my biggest hobby), but I wouldn't call myself a gamer. Not because I don't like the supposed stigma that comes with the term, but because it just seems like a stupid label/term.

Damn! I thought my office was fun and laid back, and had awesome Halloween shenanigans. You guys went all out on Halloween huh? Shit, that's awesome. I love Halloween. Also, +1 for Deadmau5 on the video.

For those wondering if it was supposed to be an RTS, here's the beginning of a pseudo-vidoc (this video predates the original Halo), with some commentary by various Bungie veterans. It's really fascinating to see how much Halo evolved (ba dum tiss) from it's original scope to what it is now.

I just lost my shit at that part. Brilliant.

Where the hell did you work? That sounds awesome.

Oh god, I didn't know the plumes of shit from the "dook huts" were PhysX enabled too.

I'm fairly certain they never mention him being a Templar. However, they DO show, in one of the eerie side mission things involving the Templar conspiracies (not sure which game to be honest) that he was carrying a piece of Eden in the painting of him crossing the Delaware if I recall correctly.

Glad someone else finds his schtick completely unfunny.

I am so mad I didn't get the opportunity to fund this. Since Rainbow and Ghost Recon have taken a turn to the more action-based shooter, I really miss old school stuff like this. Trying to complete missions without losing any men was especially fun and I actually enjoyed the planning process.

Am I the only one bothered by the fact that Luke actually had to say, "Those too young to have played it..."? Damn, I feel old.

Look, I think DLC is great. I like when I get additional content added that enriches the gameplay, whether it's single or multiplayer content. But this thing that Capcom does, where they almost ALWAYS have big chunks of multiplayer that they force you to pay for, feels to me like something that truly should have been

Jesper Kyd also did the soundtrack on one of my favorite, though lesser known, games, which was Freedom Fighters. Came out during the Xbox/Gamecube era. That game was incredibly fun and the soundtrack was fantastic. Eerie, looming, and filled with militaristic chanting and thumping.

If you saw the Spiderants from the first game, they look and behave much more like the Ant Lions. Although the Spiderants can't fly.

Now that I know these things, this is going to make my initial playthrough much more...tedious. That's really frustrating to hear as a game completionist.

I was always a fan of the Iguana Entertainment/Acclaim logos from the Turok games

Wow, I haven't seen a single comment on Tommy Lee Jone's Face at the 0:10 mark on that first commercial. WTF.

Well, that just about killed all interest I had for the game.

To be fair, I'd say that a man with the training Sam has would be able to gun down three bad guys in a hot second without issue. That said, I think a guy like Sam (as should the player) would opt for the stealthier route instead of the gunfighting route.

Man, Michael Wincott does a fantastic job in voice acting, and I'm surprised he doesn't do more games. I LOVED him as the Prophet of Truth in Halo 2 (was pissed when they replaced him in 3) and instantly recognized him here from that role and he kills it. I was actually expecting Death to have a super-deep voice, but

I played the first one, and despite its many flaws (nearly all the guns use the exact same gunfire sound? Seriously?) I enjoyed it. I never played Total Fistbump Destruction, but I enjoyed what was in the demo and the ability to make decisions was a nice touch. I'll probably pick this one up well after launch though.
