The classic Targa is still one of my favorite 911s, good on Porsche for going back to this design. I absolutely love the wraparound rear window. What will suck is if they make it AWD only.

I really prefer this to my first thought when I saw that rear end... Chevy Impala.
Really good looking car, shame the rear end (especially the tail-lights) look so much like the current Impala.
It would have worked if he had kept it straight instead of swerving back and forth to try to counteract the swinging.
U-Haul's advice is completely wrong (as usual). If your trailer starts swinging you need to keep straight and accelerate, not slow down. Any trucker will tell you this is plain common sense. Just think of a piece of rope or string: if you want to straighten it out you pull it; slowing down would be like trying to…
Have to say I agree with him in a general sense.
The most successful example of Merc's new design language imo. Whereas the CLA looks all droopy and half-melted this actually has great proportions. I like the similarity to the new S-Class in the rear as well.
Not a fan of these weird intakes at all. They look hideous front and rear. Such a messy design, I would really like something simpler and cleaner.
That's part of the problem. It shouldn't be up to the teams to decide these things.
I absolutely love how much the Gran Turismo series is based off of this show. Shows the influence it had on Kazunori Yamauchi.
Yes totally agree, points for pole and fastest lap make much more sense and would actually do more in increasing the competition/spectacle.
I like the idea of drivers getting to pick their numbers and sticking with them, like MotoGP does it.
In F1, no. The closest was the 1996 Monaco Grand Prix, won by Olivier Panis driving a Ligier. Of the 21 starters only 3 cars actually finished the race, and only 7 cars were officially classified as finishers. Panis had one of those magical weekends where a mediocre car, terrible weather conditions, and a lot of luck…
Nice article, I actually knew about this race from watching old BBC coverage, but YOU COMPLETELY LEFT OUT WHO ACTUALLY WON THE RACE when all was said and done... one of my favorite drivers of the Turbo Era, Elio de Angelis.
If Prost was such a genius he would have pulled over as soon as he crossed the finish line instead of doing a cool-down lap... that would probably have conserved enough fuel to pass the post-race inspection.
I love grid girls, so screw this. Firstly, it's not like anyone is forcing them to be there. And second, they contribute to the glamour and mystique of the sport.
Grid girls are no different from models at auto shows or, in fact, any other event where beautiful women are paraded around. If you're advocating to get rid…
This is definitely not a modified car. It's bespoke built, with no relation to the original E-Type apart from looks.
24 hours of grime just adds to the appeal:
To be fair, the 159 looks amazing in almost any color...
Well done sir.
