Not everyone's set up is the same. Sometimes it's necessary to look at the gamepad - and having the single-view optional would be nice.

You mean why look at it, or why use the controller?
Keep it 4-player split-screen on the TV, but only show the game-pad player's view on the tablet. Why have the other 3 players show up on the tablet's screen at all?
Unfortunately, split-screen shows up on the gamepad too. I wish it was only player-one's view.

DriveClub was supposed to be a PS4 Launch title (and free on PS+), and it ended up being 'finalized' for nearly a year later.
That's an exclusive. Point was there have been high-profile PC delays, too...
The Witcher 3, Elder Scrolls Online, and Watch Dogs were the other big-name delays so far this gen.
Your PS4 creates its own WiFi hotspot for the Vita to connect to. Dig through your settings (or search online) and you'll find the option to allow it to directly connect.
