Never know quite what is going on up there.

Figure we will keep it light then gradually go darker.

Too late to edit. More of Snowman. We will just pretend this doesn't sound exactly like Amos Moses...

I LOVE that Amos Moses was the first song you posted. It was the first thing I thought of when I read your intro.

Ok, Last one and it is another Kenny Rogers. Really this is for me, the whiskey is going to my head and I need a lullaby (warning, slow but what a sweet video). Hopefully this gives you some leads to get into whatever genre these guys fit into. Always hard pressed to say I listen to "Country" as there is no George

Kenny Rogers. Pros. Well, he is Kenny Rogers and I suspect this is what you are looking for all along. Cons. Getting slower and darker...

Guy Clark. Pros- Legend. Cons- I don't feel him like I do Townes or DAC or some of the others.

David Allan Coe. Pros- Still alive, made some great music. Cons- Still alive(?) divorce robbed him of the rights to many of his songs. He still plays them in concert but with different words (no problem). Looks like absolute hell. There is a string of racism and general foulness in some of his stuff so be careful.

Jerry Jeff Walker Pros- Legend. Has a crazy festival in Luchenbach Texas every summer. Cons- I don't love his songs as deeply as the others but man have I spent some time hammered singing some of them.

I look forward to that thread. Corb Lund is a personal favorite of mine, I am excited to see him Saturday in Spokane Wa. Going to drive in 2 hours to see him, but the venue is only 200 people so it should be great. Here is another song off of his newest album. Be sure to check out his Horse Soldier album, all the

Townes. Pros- probably melds more with my soul than any other artist I have ever heard. Intense and incredible song writer. Cons- Dead, no faster songs.

Dell McCoury in every incarnation. Pros- Fantastic, classic. Cons- Getting very old, more bluegrass than country?

Now playing

Steve Earle. Pros- Fantastic song library, really any album you choose is good. Still making great (dare I better) music. Cons- Political, if you care.

Dolly. Pros- I am in love with her in this video and this is one of the best songs ever. Cons- She is now horrifying. May or may not count as "this generation".

Corb Lund Pros- Still making good music (not always the case, see REK's Rose Hotel) Cons- Canadian but I am fine with that. He is one of my top 5 right now.

Very interesting. I am FAR more inclined to the slower/darker songs but none of the cliche country sob songs. Gonna send some up tempo ones at you to begin, along with quick pros/cons. They will probably not be the artist's best or most acclaimed song but instead my favorite up-tempo song of theirs. This is my

After the John Prine song, I almost didn't post this. However, since I went to all of the trouble to upload it to youtube myself, here you are. Lyrics are in the description.

You sir, need to invest in a DVR. What a game.
