By allowing and/or encouraging the removal of a symbol of equality for the downtrodden, it says that the symbol and those associated to it are a nuisance, unwanted, and discardable. And in our current rightwing radicalization of gamers, this is a terrible thing to allow.

Imagine being so full of hate that you sit down and spend the time to design a mod that removes a flag you do not like in a game. Its some real “angry incel in their moms basement” level energy

I mean, if any Skyrim mod promotes homophobia and eliminates anything that promotes equality, then yes, they should be next...

That’s because your relatives don’t actually care about any others. So something like this case will never register with them.
