Your mind is a wonderful thing, but it is forever making things up. Two dots and a line? That’s a face. Something small moving in the corner of your eye? That’s a bee coming to get you. A sudden cold draught? Must be a ghost. The same goes for sounds, watch the video, if you give an infinite number of monkeys an…
First up, apologies for it being Friday, but no apologies for the title as it is actually May Day today. I’m not sure that that means to you, but I get Monday off work due to some Victorian revival of ancient English rites of Spring or something, so yay for me.
It's Friday, the weekend is around the corner but you're just watching the clock and staring out of the window. So, here's a little creative exercise to fill in a few more minutes; describe your view, but don't just leave it as the normal boring view use that imagination and add some of your favourite genre goodness.…
You may remember the travesty of seven seismologists and disaster experts who were jailed in Italy for manslaughter after they failed to accurately predict the earthquake which killed 309 in L'Aquila in 2009. Well, now they have had their convictions quashed. Hooray for common sense.
Unlike Sleepy Hollow, the BBC has kept its finger on the pulse and decided to remove a beheading scene from this weekend's show due to recent events.
Its a Friday, so probably most of you are just waiting for the weekend to start (unless, like me, you've already started, hooray for timezones!), its time to be a little bit more productive, well, not productive, just busy.
I started to wonder why anyone would even think of building this thing, but then I realised it was Japan so it all made (absolutely no) sense. Presumably on the harder levels you have to contend with randy space octopusses and skyscraper-sized plush animals.
Yes! I can haz kitteh!
A retired man in an English village decided a hedge was boring and so set about creating an awesome topiary dragon. We need more people like that.
Fingerpori is a Finnish cartoon strip that I have never seen in English before (I've had strips translated to me). Enjoy.
In 1400 billion years (or something, my maths was very rough) at current rates it will have shrunk to nothing!
I don't watch many films at the cinema, but I had a free afternoon due to work related stuff and it was the only thing on that I fancied seeing. It was the first showing at the one cinema in town showing it and I was the only one there, normal people were either still at work or were already drunk (its that kind of…
Okay, not really, but it somehow makes more sense now.
The Oxford University Museum of Natural History has recently reopened after repairing its Victorian glass roof and cleaning its collection of dead animals. I just thought this photo by Mike Peckett was amazing.
Amazon may by looking at using drones to deliver packages, but at the Waterstones book store they have come up with a better idea...
I wouldn't normal pay any attention to sponsored posts, but I noticed the following strange discrepancy:
Lara Clarke baked a 5'5" Captain Jack Sparrow cake for a competition in Birmingham (UK). Johnny Depp has never been so delicious. Now if only devouring him would stop them making sequels.
Okay, not the scariest thing you'll probably see tonight, unless you fear spiders or hairballs.
The BBC has announced they are making a new series of the Clangers, the much loved children's animated moon-mice show from the late 60's and early 70's. While I'm too young to have seen it when first broadcast (and have official documents to prove it), this was always one of my childhood favourites.
