I agree when I'm home, when I'm away from home, I like the lock screen to keep me from butt dialing. To that end, I use Tasker to detect my home network, and if my home network is detected then my lock screen is disabled. Tasker can disable it outright, as well, for those who want it gone, always!

My wife and I have shared the lowest plan that Verizon offers for 10 years. We have never gone over, we have never come close to going over. We even ditched Vonage, because even without a 'home phone' we come nowhere close to our minute limit.

We usually use the plastic laundry bag that the hotel provides. That way if we have wet swimsuits, they're contained in the plastic bag.
