The big thing about Super Mario that people in my neighborhood always talked about was the so-called "Secret Chocolate Factory" level. At best I'm thinking the local kids got a Super Mario World level mixed up with the NES game.

I haven't been to too many big events, but I do recall the Ed Hardy booth babes at CES this year. Mostly because they were causing massive traffic jams from all of the people stopping to gawk at them/take cell phone pictures. Huge pain in the ass navigating around it.
