I agree that the term "sex offender" is grossly over used. Kids dating kids, public peeing, flashing (no trench coat warriors, mind you) - none of that is worth the hell they're put through and I hope the majority of those types of "offenders" get spirited off the list as quickly as possible.

This is why I am completely against the sex offender registry. It lumps all offenders of all ranges of crimes into one evil, bad list, and essentially mars people for life. And allows for harassment like this. It is the modern day scarlet A. My opinion is, if what the person did is so bad that they are still a danger

This is so, so dangerous. I hate sex offenders as much as the next person but putting their personal information on websites so anyone can find them and cause them harm is not justice, it's hunting for sport. The fact that innocent people's information is being displayed as well is disgusting.

Are we seriously presenting this as anything other than ridiculously obvious satire? This is getting annoying as shit. Said obvious satire has become for credulous progressives what chain e-mails about Kenyan relatives swearing Obama is a Muzlin are to credulous conservatives. Let's start fucking acting like the

While there are social implications and serious problems with the underwear fetish in Japan, I'd say the physical component of this raises it to another level. While there may be an aspect of Orientalism in the writing here, I do think that it is a problem worth examining.

Thigh lifts? I don't even want to know.

Okay, I just went down a bit of a rabbit hole. Follow me!

There seems something weirdly exoticifying about focusing so much about the issues with plastic surgery in Korea. It's a bit like being "LOL, Japan is so weird. Underwear in vending machines" but wrapping it in some feminist concerns about global health and images of beauty.

I think it is a very swanky, very James Bond type ring of thieves. They are beautiful people themselves, which is why they fit in among the beautiful people. They go to these suites, get the jewelry, and just waltz right out before anyone is the wiser. Either that or Sharon Stone is doing it.

Just FYI: I've been working in the animal welfare field a long long time and calling a shelter "high-kill" or "no-kill" is really not cool. The preferred terms are "open admission" and "limited admission," as they provide a more accurate portrait of what those shelters do and how they operate. The "high-kill" shelters

Not everyone who goes through this experience has to react to it in the same way, meaning she does not have to take off her clothes to prove anything to anyone. She should do whatever she wants.

So western society is at the point where they have to print articles about Muslims enjoying human activities to prove that they, too, are human? Are things so far gone in the west? That's scary.

This is both insanely impertinent and horribly written. Who do you think you are?

Why on earth does she have to take off her clothes? I have scars on my body from various surgeries. I'm not ashamed of them, but don't feel that I owe it to anyone to show them off. It's still MY body, and mine to do with what I choose. Why on earth would you ask a total stranger to expose something possibly

Take off her clothes? How about we just leave the woman to heal in peace.

I had the same surgery as Angelina, for similar reasons. No, multiple medical checkups are no substitute. Prior to the surgery I was doing just that, and I can tell you it's no fun having biopsies, ultrasounds, mammagrams, etc. on a semi-constant basis, all while having the spectre of cancer looming over your head.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that she thought of that option, and decided that it wasn't the best for her.

This is just...oh my god. These poor women.

Not really. Hell in some states prostitution or soliciting prostitution - neither of which are violent crimes are considered sex offenses. And some jurisdictions prosecute things under sex offender laws that are clearly not sex offenses because the fines are bigger and it brings more money into government coffers.

The thing is that misdemeanor sex offenders include people who have gotten caught taking a piss outside bars in the middle of the night and people who sent naked pictures of themselves to their boyfriends/girlfriends when they were under 18.
