But outrage of labor conditions in sweat shops is, on the other hand, necessary to actually change shit (See, for example, the work of Human Right Watch).

I wonder if Shantrelle Lewis cares about all the black and brown people slaving away in sweatshops over cheap clothing? At least the company manufacturers its clothes in the U.S. and obeys humane labor laws. This shitty window display is not racist. But other companies labor practices are!

You must not have flown in or out of New Delhi recently. They completely renovated the airport a few years ago and it is very, very nice. Also, last time I flew, I got there only 30 minutes before an international flight, and I made it with time to spare.

I'm also part of the legal professions and I get that, especially in court, you do have to dress a certain way as a woman. I would never put my own sartorial choices ahead of what's best for my client. But at some point, you are reinforcing sexist attitudes if you continue to say this path is the only path for women…

I know for a fact that J. Crew has used sweatshop labor. I did not research Tory Burch's practices to see whether or not they also use sweatshop labor. But not all clothing brands do, so that's why I said "perhaps."

Your point was that "rich" people are too "rich" to shop at J. Crew, while at the same time making a jab at Tory Burch. But some rich people must be shopping there, because it is too expensive for middle class and poor people to shop there.

I think it's incredibly overpriced and only people with large disposable incomes shop there, among other places.
