Hoping part of this is remembering that everyone has more than just that one side you disagree with. The hate up to and after the 2016 election was crazy - people despising someone just because of political views. Prior to that it was hatred due to perceived racism or not agreeing on various other issues. As much as I

I hadn’t actually seen the “vote by posting a hashtag” thing before. Personally, I think if anyone fell for that, they shouldn’t be voting in the first place. It shows a vast ignorance about how our voting process works.

I will add that if you’re in TX and voting “straight party” on an electronic machine, go slowly.

Pretty good recommendations. I’d probably add in a good number of games from HABA - they try to make games that play well with kids and parents playing with them. Animal Upon Animal, Rhino Hero, Monza, and such are great w/ kids and not too bad with adults as well.

Not really sure what the big deal for TX is. Show that you live at the address you’re claiming and sign a statement saying that you are who you say you are. If you’re not eligible to vote or are voting as someone else, shouldn’t there be some sort of criminal penalty? I thought that sort of thing was illegal.

But - it

What about taking a break from the news cycle that’s constantly geared up to get us agitated about whatever the topic of the day is and just getting to know people - even those who have (gasp) different opinions? I see so many people who post things like “all Hillary/Trump supporters are ...”, but ignore the fact that

Took a quick look at the list and noticed that there are several companies on the list I’d actually want to hear from in some fashion. Also thought it was odd that the Bank of America Helps account was there - pretty sure that’s mostly used for actually helping people, not spamming (at least most of the time).  I like

I walked out of a dealership that was trying to fit me into a monthly payment. I was polite about it, but never went back. Strong-arm sales tactics, wouldn’t tell an actual price, no prices to see, and kept talking about what monthly payments I could afford, even after I kept saying I was looking at overall price, not

I’d probably keep both Brave New World and 1984. If anything, our society has huge reflections of both. We have people who just want to be entertained and stop caring and we have a huge amount of monitoring (though ironically, we place ourselves under a good portion of it willingly). They’re both different takes on a

Can’t even get to settings in my browser right now. Get a “something doesn’t look right” message. If this becomes permanent, may just be time to cancel. I see their ads for original content already and just don’t care for the vast majority of it. Why would I want to see _more_ ads for stuff I don’t want to watch?  Bad

Something else to consider is that the problem could be outside your lines. A while back the city was doing construction on our streets. I noticed that all of our drains were slow drains and contacted the city to have someone check because that hadn’t been an issue until then. Sure enough, within a day, the problem

Comixology or Cold Brew?  Kind of confused by that one. :)

Knew I should have waited for a Switch charging station deal. Charging the pro controller plus some joy-cons would have been nice, but I guess I’ll just keep my eye out for a decent USB/Charging hub in the meantime.

Worst I had was when we showed up on school fundraiser night at the local Tex-Mex place. We were seated, but apparently no record was made that we were seated so nobody was assigned to us. We had drinks, but never got to order food. We walked up to the register to pay for the drinks and leave because we were out of

First - I grew up in CT so know of New Haven style pizza. Clams are not required and it’s really not too bad. IIRC, classified by being wood-fired w/ a pretty light smattering of cheese. The mozz looks more like grated parmesan.

At least in the US, you can easily set up an online account for no monthly charges. I’ve used Capital One (formerly IngDirect) to do that. I link my normal checking account and just have it take $$$/month on a set day. Automatic transfer out, the money is put where it’s not as accessible or seen, and I have

Sadly we do more “road hazard warranty” replacements than I’d like. Lots of construction in our area and we’ve had several tires that just weren’t able to be repaired. The extra $12-20 for the road hazard has saved us paying the full cost of a tire more than once. I’ve never had to use a warranty for anything else so

It’s also worth noting that you don’t actually have to _join_ the PTA in order to volunteer to help at the school. You don’t get to vote or whatever, but you also don’t pay the dues. My wife helped quite a bit way back when but really didn’t want to officially join the PTA. She could still do as much (or little) as

So what do you do when someone has built a vacation type house for themselves and rent that out through one of these services? We’ve used those types of places a couple of times and they’ve worked really well. They keep the place for their own getaways when they want to use them or let family/friends use them and rent

It’s interesting, but apparently the Amazon variant is the only one w/ a completely locked bootloader and you can’t use the setting that makes the phone treat an SD card as integrated storage. With 13+ GB of that 32GB taken up out of the box, that doesn’t leave as much as I’d like. I did read that some people @ the

Turns out I already had this set up, but added some authors to my “Following” list. I’ll second BookBub as well - useful to keep track of deals by genre. Trying to check a wishlist periodically almost guarantees you’ll miss something. As Nick noted, there are a lot of sales that are short-lived.

Need to add a couple
