I've only ever lived in Canada so I can't speak to other countries' attitudes regarding ethnic background. There very well could be other countries who do it better than us. I really don't know. But I think there is a danger to us thinking "Oh, Canada is so great and wonderful and amazing!" I will agree that things

They said they wanted samosas because Meher mentioned samosas in her write-up. You may want to read the post more carefully. And samosas are South Asian, not Indian. They're in Pakistan and Bangladesh as well where Muslims eat them as well and are a very common food for the iftar (breaking fast) for desis. And yes,

This has nothing to do with being Muslim or not. White non-Muslim Americans are treated like royalty there while Pakistani Muslims are treated like shit. It's racism and classism.
