The problem I see throughout this whole discussion is that it's sometimes about purely sexual attraction and sometimes about attraction as a package of sexual, emotional and whatever else kind of attraction.

Well, there's only two of us here. If it signifies anything that we're here saying that the Netherlands is quite a racist country it is, in my opinion, that there's a great divide between people who are worried and/or angry about all those immigrants and so-called foreigners living here and the people who are worried…
I live there. I don't recognize what you're describing.
I'm inclined to agree, but I don't think it's very productive to point to feminism putting up too little of a fight and not going beyond casually mentioning all that it's fighting against.
It's not like there's quite enough of that 'feminism has screwed over....', oh, everywhere. We need more!
Look, to be honest, it's not the old news thing, it's the presumed authority on all things guy while talking to a bunch of women, as well as the need to reassure. I won't call into question your good intentions. But it's an attitude towards women that's shockingly prevalent among guys, something you might not be aware…
I understand. And appreciate too. I see you mean well, and to be honest there might be little wrong with your post, but that certain approach that many blogs with a female slant and a majority of female commenters get from guys. The 'let me, as one guy, teach you, bunch of women, what we, all guys, like, on the basis…
My heart is liquid.
To quote George Michael, where did your heart go? Cause I'm sure I had you hearted but I don't mind trying again.
I might be. It was a shorter way of saying that your point would benefit from less gender essentialism and less talking for all those who - I presume - share your gender, aka, 'preaching to the ladies'.
Sure it's a choice. That doesn't mean there is anything right about the regulations, though. That's a different argument.
Where you say 'guys' I fill in 'women' and vice versa. Same thing for many people.
I had exactly the same reaction, causing violent shudders.
Oh, the 'you're only angry because it is the truth' strawman. Because anger=defensiveness <- truth, right?
You're ahead of me. Oh man.
Ha! I got a "Virtual card for you!" warning only last May.
Kiernan Shipka, I love you, you're awesome. But your acting here is so convincing is a bit disturbing to me. Especially because of the fact that you have the "professional but sexy psychologist" well-worn trope down to a tee, and yet you're twelve.
Awesome, wasn't it? The Sopranos and Six Feet Under changed the way of modern TV drama so significantly. I'm convinced my series-in-bed-watching ways nowerdays wouldn't have been half as interesting without them.
Thanks! *blush*
Hey, I didn't make it up. It's only slightly less random than 'third trimester' in my view. But that's what US law decided to be the cut-off point in '92. Where I'm from (Netherlands) it's the law, too, based on the same argument of fetal viability. From the 'right to privacy' point of view I could argue there should…
