How the fuck is Mirena that expensive in the US?? I - in Europe - had to pay for it out of pocket, too, but it only cost roughly the equivalent of 200 dollars.

That was my first thought too.

I don't think he's legally allowed to do that. Whoever enters needs your permission for the if, when and how. Your landlord may have keys, but he still needs permission. Same goes for the repairman, who additionally has, I think, absolutely no right to your keys.

I'd agree somewhat, except for that fact that it's not just societal expectations, it's also a question of physical strength and a real fear of escalation because of physical differences.

Don't forget it's not just religion, it's state law in Iran. I'm not sure I agree with your argument, anyway, but in this case it's even more convoluted.

You don't think years and years of wearing headscarves haven't taught the wearers anything about how to prevent that?

@mordicai: Which you will, if you choose to use the Daily Fail as your source for a 'oh those crazy socialist French who don't like free speech, also, capitalism!' type story. It's not like that law wasn't enforced before or anything.

Your projections aside - and? You think he has some Freudian subconscious thing going on where he's willing to take he risk of being caught because it would make him awesome. Perhaps - but I'm pretty sure that, too, can be a tell-tale sign of a narcissist. Not all narcissist are born fulll-blown.

I know quite a few people with a Quiet Marriage, also known as Not-A-Big-Deal Marriage. Having been together for a long time, loving each other, living together, growing to love each other more, having or not having children together, at some point the couple exchanges vows and throws an awesome party. Then, except

Sounds like a perfect arrangement to me, to be honest.

They do not choose all of a sudden to enforce an old law, because they specifically hate on Facebook or Twitter, like it's being suggested. This law has been enforced for almost twenty years. They're just saying that Facebook and Twitter fall under it too, and rightly so, IMO.

All true.

No. That's the thing: you can't self-promote, saying 'facebook' or 'twitter'.

Honest question: is it in any way different from having a long relationship or shacking up? Or, in other words, for you, is it the 'marriage' part that defines it or the 'relationship' part?

@monkeybusiness: I get tongs pincing my cervix, you get a needle in your balls. I think that's fair.

Good point. I was a bit disturbed by the turn the argument took, because I don't think the point is 'hey, not real' but the point is 'hey, not the message'. Because the message isn't that you should go out and shoot your rapist, the message is that it happens, and why. This persona Rihanna took on was so goddamn angry

And I got 6 out of 10 too. I realised that the only thing that I used as a cue, was whether narrator or perspective betrayed a woman as protagonist. If I saw female, I guessed female, simply because men writing female protagonists are more scarce.

I wonder what Mr Naipaul would've said about the writing of Bev Vincent, who got the following comments from an editor after turning in the manuscript:

@hildy.johnson: Mmmm, no, I guess not. But I do find it interesting that someone at ABC, apparently, found it necessary to present them that way.
