Porsche Effect display should last about a year, with some potential changes to the display cars as time goes on. Also be sure to book a Vault Tour with your visit as they couldn’t fit all of the cars they wanted to include in the ground floor gallery.

The other place it would be great to have one displayed is at the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio - that place is incredible. Instead they ended up with the full sized Crew Compartment Trainer which is interesting to look at but not nearly as impressive as the real thing. I think the one in NYC would be more

Go and see the one they have at Kennedy Space Center in Florida - it’s in a much larger hangar and it is elevated off the floor so that you can walk fully underneath it from end to end.

You might also be surprised to learn it is a very obvious play on the name of a leading SpaceX competitor - The Boeing Company.

#mindblown ;-)

Nice article Ken :-)

There is at least one S660 in the USA, at the Lane Motor Museum in Nashville, Tennessee. I fell in love immediately when I saw it there last year.

Just went to see the LFA at Woodland Hills Lexus the day the initial article was published. Been sitting there for many years, said to belong to the owner of the dealer, but I strongly suspect it would be on the list of those that have never been titled or sold. Car looks minty fresh but the clearbra application is

Wouldn’t want to be the next owner of the BMW. Plates on the car are registered to a 2015 M4, VIN: WBS3R9C51FK329861

So a while back I changed my FB cover photo to a beautiful R390 GT1 road car image. Turned out that unbeknownst to me, one of my friends is a Nissan addict and shot this video with the Blue R390 road car at the DNA Garage in Japan where the car is permanently displayed. Pay close attention to the video description

Refer to this comment - it has the actual details of what transpired.

^^^ Clearly someone who knows what they are talking about.

I do agree they should stick to the script, but this article is promoting a common misconception with the link drawn by people who don’t know what actually occurred during development of the M838T. There are some other commenters here who have clarified the situation including myself - hopefuly Raphael will take

What EX-engine-Neer has written is an entirely accurate chain of events. What the article claims here is not accurate, nor is the crowd-sourced info on Wikipedia always foolproof either.

Sums it up inaccurately - read some of the additional comments here from those with more direct knowledge.

Raphael - did you do any research on this topic directly with McLaren, or with their engine partner Ricardo? I believe if you do you will learn that this is not as cut and dry as your article suggests.

While McLaren certainly did buy the rights to this engine design from TWR at the start of their new supercar project,

Prevailing theory is that the red example was rebodied and repainted and became the blue one that lives in the Nissan museum. This was confirmed by someone directly involved in the R390 project.

It’s a common misconception actually. McLaren did buy the rights to the engine from TWR at the start of their project in the mid-2000s, but ultimately Ricardo did a clean-sheet design for the engines in their cars and the only similarities end up being the bore spacing and V-angle.

Except it’s not accurate - there isn’t a single casting shared between the two engines. The bore spacing and V-angle are the only direct similarities. Ricardo essentially did a clean-sheet design for McLaren.

My color - Aurora Blue - and lots of carbon, but not all the carbon.

Some MSO touches inside and maybe talk of a few outside pending costs.

Ring MSO - they will be happy to sort this out for you. Doesn’t seem that they have done many in pink so far, so you’ll be blazing a new trail.
