Well it's never a competition when enthusiasm is involved, but I do try to stay on top of everything. :-)

You did - that was the only F1 GTR out at the VMAX event at Bruntingthorpe yesterday.
Thanks for the laugh. Always happy to assist. :-)
This is also an F1 GTR (chassis 17R) and not an F1 LM, despite the caption.
Mason's GTR is 10R, the one in the video is 13R.
Around the time the 4200R was released Isuzu were also offering a proposal to Gordon Murray at McLaren Cars to supply the engine for the upcoming McLaren F1 road car project. Technically they were there and could have done it, but the Isuzu brand obviously was lacking the racing pedigree to be taken seriously as an…
It could not be imported at the time as it was a road car (therefore would not qualify for entry as a racing car) yet there had been no effort made by McLaren (thankfully) to get the F1 to conform to our more stringent and imposing regulations that were in place at the time. The car stayed in England for the time he…
There are about 2 dozen McLaren F1s in the USA presently.
This car was sold with just slightly more than 10,000 miles on the odometer.
Yes - a majority of the cars do now. Lighting was one of the weak points of the car and this retrofit by the factory actually repositions the low beam lamp to the inner position and moves the high beam lamp to the larger outer spot for better overall results.
Your timing estimate is off by about 12 years. In 2005 F1s were already trading about 2x their original price. As far as public sales are concerned, the spike in 2008 with the sale at RM London for £2.53M of the former McLaren Park Lane showroom car really kicked things into gear, as did a similar sale in 2010 in…
...and yet present F1 owners are driving the cars more than most of the original buyers did. The future is bright for these cars from a value perspective and from a use perspective. They aren't all locked away in glass cases thankfully.
Should be noted that the Gooding sale of #066 for $8.47M last August in Monterey was only the highest recorded public sale. Already there were other F1s that had traded for more, including more than the price paid in this sale, through private transactions. To suggest that the market for an F1 has moved by $1.5M in…
The dirty little secret Ferrari don't want you to know is that despite shunning the idea of including an E-mode, theoretically the LaFerrari can go further on battery power alone than the P1 can.
These things don't tend to translate well in photos. Have you seen a 650S in person yet? I have and I thought it was a tremendous improvement for those who felt the 12C wasn't aggressive enough.
For the novelty, anyone is free to waste their money.
No one needs this - the components are completely obsolete given the change in laws and the fact that the government chose to grandfather in the Ameritech F1s under the newer 'Show or Display' provision. The fact that these parts were created by a company here in the USA and not McLaren (without their blessing even)…
So you, and one other person. Okay. ;-)
It could indeed be more brown.
