Pretty obvious that weather was a factor. It's a 2,500lb car with over 600hp and no driver's aids to speak of. It was also worth $1M new and the driver was likely apprehensive about pushing the car under those circumstances.
The F1 truly isn't a track monster in road car form, but would have done quite a bit better…
Didn't take it as you were - I was really just answering your question. Lots of people don't get how usable the 12C is with its dual personalities.
ExoticSpotter has at least one 12C sighting not too long ago:

Guy in the Bay Area put 16K on his in one year. As far as supercars go it is quite a usable package - the changes that can be dialed into the suspension with the turn of a switch make it quite a comfortable car under Normal conditions and certainly suitable for daily use.
The problem specifically relates to humidity/moisture mixed with sustained high temperatures - something you won't find in the Great Britain.
From the fault analysis document supplied by McLaren:
"The presence of significant amounts of copper and molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) in the brushes in the wipers motors on the…

North America accounts for roughly 40% of McLaren's business and they have already built over 3,000 12Cs.
Not an active one, but they have extended the warranty on this part for the life of the vehicle for any owner who has the issue.
Also, it was McLaren who discovered the problem after a small number were discovered to be faulty in service visits and they instigated the recall themselves, notifying the NHTSA of the…
Well the production MINI body wasn't based on this AVC30 - kind of my point.
Frank had his own design concepts for what the revived MINI should look like and it was his designs (though never shown publicly in full form like the ACV30 which actually dates to October 1995) that were pursued into production.
Frank's…
Despite what the Wikipedia entry suggests, or any other source you may have come across, I was fairly certain that Frank Stephenson had nothing to do with the design of the MINI ACV30 concept that has always been attributed to Adrian Van Hooydonk.
I was so curious that I asked him to confirm and sure enough, Frank has…
There are grab handles in the roof section of each door that the driver can reach from a seated position.
Something to keep in mind perhaps is that despite its performance capabilities the F1 wasn't intended to be a race car, or fast on race tracks. Gordon specifically told the rest of the members of the team during the development process that he was not building a racing car and in fact was designing compromises into…
Door not closed all the way.
Like every part on the F1, the door is not very heavy so it requires some force to compress the weatherstripping running all around the fairly large door opening as you close it. I have closed and reclosed more than a couple myself.
You are welcome to infer what you want, but along with the release of this clip today TopGear reported that the McLaren completed their fastest lap with an average speed "in excess of 111 MPH".
If you do the math on the 20,600 Meter standard distance for a traditional Nordschleife lap from Bridge to Gantry even at 111…
There is most definitely a chance the LaFerrari will be slower as it is not going to generate near the amount of downforce that the P1 does.
Additionally, Ferrari's weight claims are traditionally proved to be extremely optimistic so I wouldn't take their claim of having the lowest dry weight figure to heart just yet.…
The P1, according to McLaren's Cheif Test Driver Chris Goodwin, has never once in all the miles of testing he has done ever run out of battery.
The stories got confusing for some because it was reported that the P1 needed two recharges of its battery to complete 1 lap of the Ring. What this actually means is that the…
