@mkbruin: 1931 Duesenberg Model J Franay Convertible Sedan
@rawtoast: You should probably make an appointment at the optometrist.
@Blitzschnell: That's because Facebook knows who your friends are. It's not some random chance thing.
@jamesbr: On another forum a seemingly knowledgable individual claimed they've built 13 cars so far which includes a pair of the early SC8/T model.
@wvannus: Everyone is famous for something, right? :D
@TraderCoz: I'm the latter. Been following the cars quite closely for most of the past decade. I know where most of them are and who owns them as well as a lot about many of their individual histories.
@gun6slinger9: Thanks for pointing that out. I hadn't gone back to look.
@powermatic: In the case of the earliest cars I'm not 100% sure. It was said early on that #001 was going to be "McLaren's own car" by more than one source, so putting a few customer cars ahead of it in line was probably not a problem for them.
@38thsignal: I had a feeling I'd save at least one Jalopnik reader from financial ruin with my comments. ;)
@powermatic: I've been told $880,000 by a fairly knowledgeable source. Jay purchased his in early 2000 before prices on the F1 really began to move higher.
@Psiu! Puxa!: His point is that unlike a car like the Veyron or Ultimate Aero, obtaining a top speed record wasn't a primary concern or goal of the F1's development program.
I am very skeptical of the ad.
Proof the 'MFG 44699' plate belongs to Fisker:
@Phantom_of_the_Roller: This car was originally painted Magnesium Silver. The car's current owner chose this blue color after making the purchase.
@Nurburgringer: It is for sure his car and indeed a shame for him to have had the accident and also to be getting this kind of publicity.
@JDickson87: No - you're correct. While #059 (the silver F1 in his image) is the only F1 with that style of headlamp there are many other F1s with HIDs fitted like you have described.
@desmalta: There's no full-speed version available of the video, but at the time they were doing a 30-mph barrier test.
@Wengy: Actually only one of the Papaya Orange ones you see is an actual F1 LM, and it is in fact the prototype - XP1 LM.
