I’m an avid bike-commuter and this is a real problem. There are so many places in America that have been designed solely for getting around by car. I was visiting Jacksonville, FL and I thought “Wow, this place is flat, warm, it must be great for biking!” Nope. It is terrible. Most of the streets are designed as

And I’ll bet a very significant percentage of that small percent are rich. They just don’t think their games to avoid taxes are the same as “mooching and scamming” because they are rich.

Good point. I’m a bit puzzled about how they have “standing” I can only assume that they have managed to convince a judge that the tax situation has somehow reduced share prices or dividends.

Pontiac, because they’re all about sticking big engines in medium sized cars.

Trains are great, now if only they went to places I need to go, or in a reasonable amount of time, or on a timetable that fits my schedule they’d be perfect. For example, if I want to go from Philly to Pittsburgh, I can drive in ~5 hours but the train takes 7hr 20min (or a 10+ hr option) and only leaves once a day so

Services like that aren’t really viable when you want to drive to a destination several hours away. Perhaps it will be viable once they have fully autonomous vehicles and they create a business model that somehow manages vehicles moving back and forth between long distance destinations.

I want an autonomous luxury minivan for 90%+ of my driving. There, I said it. Most of my driving isn’t DRIVING, it’s just getting somewhere with a bunch of other people on the road. I’ll keeop an old, basic, fun car for when I want to go for a real DRIVE, but for commuting, getting groceries, or cruising along on a

Wow! I’ve never seen that before.

“Dirt-Covered” <> Dirty floor mat.

Yes, they need to create a sticker/vinyl kit as part of the package to help mask the ugliness. Basic rectangular sponsor stickers on top of the factory paint just isn’t cutting it, the ugly is too strong.

Why is there no JALOPNIK bumper sticker on this lovely beast? Way more deserving than any racecar. This is the most Jalop thing around, well, until David does it in a diesel M-B wagon or swaps a M-B diesel into a Jeep.

Thank you, I appreciate your generosity. Fuck the Fox-News indoctrinated white people. The level of obliviousness and self-absorption that allows them to simultaneously say shit like this and then claim over and over that they are not racist is mind-boggling.

and like a good rescued-dog story, I get a little weepy seeing rusty old beasts show they’ve still got life left in them and do things that most people thought they couldn’t (and certainly shouldn’t) do anymore.

Does this replace the iM? The iM is more wagon-like (although small) and is available with a stick. I’d hate to lose a wagon-y car for just a hatchback.

One of the reasons I like to occasionally travel for work is I get to have cable TV and some movie channels we don’t have at home. I can always find some guilty-pleasure movie to watch that would surely make my wife groan and go to bed without me (Fast & Furious 8 on my last trip, a number of vampire moves on the trip

Excellent point. Besides, he’ll have trailer brakes!

‘Awful with a glass of wine’ is one of my favorite genres; almost always enjoyed alone to eliminate shaming by my wife or her move of going to bed shortly before then end (a move that I am generally incapable of making because I really want to know how the incredibly stupid movie ends!)

How about bellypans? They’re a big deal over on EcoModder. I kind of geekily want to try to make some aero mods on my full size van (front air dam, belly pan, side skirts) just to try to eek out any slight improvement in its horrible fuel economy.

Not unless you did summer theater in the DC area in the early 90's ;-)

That sounds totally plausible to me. I’ve had a friend or two like that. We seemed to alternate who was into who and after many years the timing just never worked out. It’s all good though we’ve all ended up with good partners and have been able to stay friends that can care deeply for each other (or at least I do)
