A while ago I realized that when I was just out of Uni & making a whopping 7.25$/hr, I couldn’t really afford the 1bd apt I found for 450$/mo; now 25+ years later, I find myself earning a bit more than 3x as much while the apts in Portland are all nearly 3x as much as they were then.
I’ve always thought it’s also[more?] about the what you know about the who you know... not that any of that’s ever done me any good; nobody ever tells me anything.
